Mukul Wasnik suffers brain haemorrhage

Mukul Wasnik, general secretary, All India Congress Committee (AICC)and former Union Sports Minister was admitted to the Indraprastha Apollo hospital on Monday evening after he suffered brain haemorrhage. Doctors say that his condition is now stable.

Wasnik was admitted in the hospital at 7 pm in an unconscious state. “The cerebral agioplasty confirmed that it was brain haemorrhage,” said hospital sources. Soon after he was brought in MRI and CT scan was done. Doctors say that reports for further investigation will help them decide if he requires surgery at this point of time or not. “This will be decided on Wednesday,” added sources.

Admitted in the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Apollo, Wasnik was still reported to have been unconscious.

“The doctors did try to dissolve the clot but surgical intervention is still a concern,” said sources. His other vital organs however are stated to be working normal.
