Mulayam appreciates Advani ‘advice’ on graft,says BJP leader never lies

SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Saturday spoke favourably about senior BJP leader L K Advani.

Amid strained ties with the Congress,Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Saturday spoke favourably about senior BJP leader L K Advani at a function here to commemorate the 103rd birth anniversary of Ram Manohar Lohia.

With BJP MLA Savitri Bai Phule the only opposition leader present,Mulayam said that Advani had told him that he wanted the SP government in Uttar Pradesh to continue but that corruption had increased in the state. Advani told me there is too much corruption in the state… officials are out of control,what are ministers doing. If Advaniji is saying so,there is an urgent need for a review meeting. Advaniji never speaks a lie. I will ask him the names of corrupt persons in the government, he said.

Mulayam reserved his criticism for the Congress-led UPA government,calling it a coward as China stops the water flow of Brahmaptura. China is encroaching on our land and the government is sitting idle… The BJP is not responsible for Chinese aggression but the Congress is. During my regime as defence minister,the Chinese army made some marks in our territory and I asked the Indian Army to make at least four such marks in their territories,but this government is a coward, he said.

He also attacked the UPA government for price rise and corruption,and said the law and order situation in the state was better than in Delhi.

At the same time,he advised son Akhilesh Yadav,who recently completed a year as chief minister,to act tough on criminals and the mafia and guard against sycophants. Rule with an iron hand. All criminals,mafia should be afraid.

He also accused the state ministers of being engaged in their personal agenda and ignoring workers.
