The chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for Mumbai was suspended after the CBI arrested his son in connection with a recruitment scandal involving the alleged leak of examination papers for money.
CBI has unearthed a railway recruitment scam by conducting simultaneous raids in Mumbai,Bangalore,Raipur,Kolkata and Hyderabad, CBI spokesperson Harsh Bhal said in New Delhi. This scam relates to examinations for posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Assistant Station Master. It is estimated that the scam runs into several crores of rupees.
Those arrested include RRB chairman S M Sharmas son Vivek Bhardwaj,the former Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM),Raipur,A K Jagannatham,his son Srujan and five others.
