“My last read was A Better India, A Better World by N R Narayana Murthy which I finished reading around two weeks ago. I opted for the book written by the founder chairman of Infosys Technology Limited because he has established a successful IT company on the basis of values and principles,” said Dr Vandana Shahi, principal of BCM School in Dugri.
Dr Shahi, who pursued a PhD in Environmental Science, said: “I was very keen to read the book which is a compilation of 38 lectures by the IT honcho on various subjects through which he has conveyed a message of hardwork,
discipline and honesty to the youth, which is indeed very inspiring.”
The educationist clearly seems to be in awe of Murthy. “Taking inspiration from visionary leaders
like Dr A P J Kalam, Dr Manmohan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Narayana Murthy has discussed at length about the state of the country, the progress it has made, the challenges it has been facing and he also suggests the solutions. After talking about the problems, Murthy stresses upon the need to change our
mindsets to make India a better place.”
She recalls: “At one place he writes that India is the only country which holds the key to a better world.
A statement such as this fills the reader with positive thoughts. The chapter ‘What would I do, if I were the principal of a senior secondary school’, is really helpful for a school administrator as it helps a person understand the real meaning of leadership.”
