Striker Musibau scored a hat-trick as Hindustan FC toyed with City FC before inflicting a humiliating 5-0 defeat in a DSA Senior Division league match at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday.
Hindustan FC dominated the match right from the start and took the lead in the 14th minute, when Musibau comfortably directed an aerial ball from Syed Ansar into the net.
They increased the lead in the 38th minute when Ajay Barthwal headed a cross from Ansar. Seconds before the lemon break,Musibau compounded City FC’s problems as hit a left footer at the back of the net to make it 3-0.
After the break,City FC went firmly into a shell. The only time they found the net,it was their own, when Ansar’s curling corner kick was hit home (pun intended) by City’s Suresh in the 64th minute.
Desperate to stop Hindustan from scoring another,City conceded a penalty in the 71st and Musibau made no mistake to notch up his third. With the win,Hindustan FC go top of the charts with 24 points in 10 matches, while City have just 3 points.
The second match was also a one-sided affair with New Delhi Heroes edging past Mughals FC 3-0. ND’s Harvinder scored two goals to pave way for an easy win.
Mughals, the weakest side so far, showed resistance and held their own until the 37th minute when Harvinder, dribbling past two defenders, smashed the ball in to open the scoring.
The striker struck again five minutes later Harvinder carved space to his right and hit the ball home in the 42nd minute.
In the second half,he was substituted by Neeraj who made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute. The win takes New Delhi Heroes to 16 points from 10 matches while Mughals have just 1 from 11 matches.
