Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he finds solace while listening to music by sarod maestro AmjadAli Khan's sons Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan.

"Every time they come out with a new album, they send it to me. Their new record is very nice. When I go to work, or am in my vehicle, in the studio, or my makeup room, I listen to it and feel a sense of relief.

"My blessings and best wishes to you both. You are taking the tradition set by your father to new heights," Bachchan said here on Thursday, after releasing the book "My Father, Our Fraternity: The Story of Hafiz Ali Khan And My World", penned by Amjad Ali Khan and published by Roli Books.

"Amjad bhai and Subhalakshmi ji (his wife) have spent so many lovely evenings with us," Bachchan said.

Amjad Ali Khan, on the occasion, said, "God has made Amitabh a multi-dimensional figure. He has an ear for music. I have heard him playing keyboard and heard his songs in 70s."

"There is a sort of politics in music also. It has been there forever. But people do not know this. In every field, there is politics and good and bad things," he said.

The book is based on the sarod maestro's memories of his father Hafiz Khan, who passed away in 1972, and includes anecdotes and narrations from a diary he wrote.

It dwells on the life and times of his father, giving a glimpse of the 'guru-shishya parampara' (teacher-disciple tradition) in Indian classical music and also has some rare photographs dating back to 1930s.

Speaking of his father, Khan said, "Music was his life.

There are books available on other musicians, but nothing on my father, so I decided to write this book."

"I am lucky I was born as his son. He was a great musician and also a very kind, compassionate man," the 67-yearold decorated classical musician said.
