What did love mean to you when you were growing up?
As a teenager I only had crushes on the boys of the senior classes. I never had a boyfriend, not because I didn’t want to but because they didn’t ever like me. I was the typical young teenage girl who would look at the cute guys and my heart would flutter, but no one would even notice me. So basically, my love life as a teen was full of disappointment.
Tell us about Jennifer in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani.
I play Rajkumar Santoshi’s version of a damsel in distress. Jenny is a lost girl. She doesn’t have any friends and wants to be loved. She also has stars in her eyes about her ideal man and the idea of love. Then she meets Prem, who is the complete opposite of her ideal man and gets her nerve all the time. It’s a comedy for sure but it’s more about a girl falling in love with her best friend.
So who’s your best friend and confidant right now?
I have a close circle of friends that I can call at 3 am when I suddenly feel like it’s the end of the world. Whenever I think anything is impossible I call my mom for support and ask her to pray for me. She’s such a good person and I think that God will listen when she prays. Surprisingly, the one person who knows me inside out and whom I am most honest with is my little sister, Isabel.
