Deol finally relaxes and talks about Road,Movie which sounds interestingly unconventional. “I drive around the interiors of Rajasthan in a truck,with a cinema setup and we show a film at every stop. It’s basically called moving cinema,” he explains. “While shooting,we actually drove around a lot in the blazing heat,interacting with the locals. Everyone we met was crazy about cinema,which is also what the film is about.”

Deol says the main reason he chose to do Road,Movie was Dev Benegal. “The script was really good. Also,Dev says the funniest things with a poker straight face,he’s great fun to work with,” he says. Clearly tired of answering questions related to his unconventional choice of roles,Deol sighs and says if you add a song and dance to a film it becomes commercial cinema. “This is absurd branding. Commercial means making money and Dev.D and Oye Lucky,Lucky Oye did well at the box office. I can’t understand why they’re called non-commercial movies,” he says.

Deol’s own production house,Forbidden Films,will soon start work on its own film Basra,where the actor will be playing a RAW agent. “It’s still in the planning stages. I have a lot of ideas and film concepts. I really hope one of my productions will work out this year.” So do we.
