Myanmars President U Thein Sein would be visiting India from October 12 to 15,a Ministry of External Affairs statement said here on Monday. Accompanied by a high-level delegation,he would hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and meet President Pratibha Patil. The ministry said India attaches great importance to its relations with neighbouring Myanmar. The visit would consolidate the bilateral relations. Officials said the two sides were expected to sign a number of agreements during the visit. He would be going to Gaya and Sarnath as well. As per officials,Indias policy vis-a-vis Myanmar is independent of third countrys involvement in Myanmar,and is one of constructive engagement based on enhanced bilateral and developmental cooperation.
