A friendly banter between two friends ended with one landing in a hospital with a serious gunshot wound.

As per the SHO, Jagraon, Pawanjit Singh, 22-year-old Parminderjeet Singh, a resident of Karnail Singh Nagar, was sitting at his friends place in old Dana Mandi and two were working on the computer.

The police officer says, “The two, as per what we know till time, were clicking each other’s pictures with a digital camera and loading them on the computer. The two boys had weapons with them. a .12 bore gun and pistol. We are still not sure as to what happened, but Parminder Jeet Singh was shot in his left shoulder with the gun and bullet passing through his entire chest area came out of the right arm. His condition at present is serious and he has been admitted in Dayananad Medical College and Hospital for medical assistant.” Parminderjeet’s condition, till the time of going to the press, was stated to be serious.

The SHO said, “Parminderjeet Singh at present is in no condition to record his statement and we will take any action after his statement is recorded. We have sent a police official to the hospital who will record his statement as soon as the doctors allowed him to do so.”

The police, meanwhile, are not disclosing the name of the other friend accompanying Parminderjeet Singh claiming that this shooting was a result of an accident and that Parminderjeet’s friend had no intention to hurt him whatsoever. The police however adds that they will be able to reach final conclusion only after recording Parminderjeet’s statement for at the time when this incident happened, the two were alone in the room.
