‘Na Jaane Kabse’ was a risk: Amrita Prakash

Amrita would star in writer-director Pammi Somal's upcoming film 'Na Jaane Kabse'.

Not many would remember actress Amrita Prakash who has done small roles in big banner films like Karan Johar’s ‘We Are Family’,Rajshri’s ‘Vivaah’ and ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’. But now this pretty girl-next-door is set to debut as a lead actress under a new banner.

Amrita would star in writer-director Pammi Somal’s upcoming film ‘Na Jaane Kabse’.

“I am blessed to have worked with good people and I hope to continue it. Post ‘Vivaah’,I had few offers of supporting roles but I was not keen on that. I wanted to do lead roles,” said Amrita.

“It was quite a risk for me… as it was a new banner, new director. But I had faith in the script. She (Pammi) has delivered a good film. I had no second thoughts on that. I am open to work with anyone,be it a big banner or a small one.”

Amrita made her acting debut on silver screen with Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Tum Bin’ where she played the role of a sister to the lead actor; in ‘Vivaah’ she played Amrita Rao’s younger sister.

“I am excited about doing a full-fledged role in ‘Na Jaane Kabse’,” Amrita said. “When I went for narration I liked it. It is easy-going romantic comedy. I could completely relate to the character,Anjali. It is a sort of like Kareena’s character in ‘Jab We Met’.”

The movie is slated to release in September-October.

Ask her about how comfortable she is wearing skimpy outfits and delivering intimate scenes,Amrita says,“I am not very comfortable. I will stick to my boundaries. I want to do films that people can watch with family.”
