Byelection to Nalagarh Assembly seat is likely to be held in November and the state unit of BJP will decide on allotment of ticket at an appropriate time.
The seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MLA Hari Narain Saini,and on Monday in a meeting with Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal,Sainis wife Gurman Kaur staked claim for a ticket.Dhumal,who met party workers along with Gurman Kaur,recalled the role of Saini in development of the area and told his wife not to worry about the ticket but instead work for the party,which will be the real tribute to her husband.
THe BJP workers submitted a nine-point memorandum to the chief minister that included some of the demands raised by Saini. Dhumal assured them that the government was paying due attention to consitutency.
He also said the government has spent Rs 72 crore for improvement of national highway connecting Nalagarh Assembly segment. An additional Rs 8.15 crore would also be spent on restoration of Chikni Khad bridge,while three new roads were also being constructed.
He said 78-km new roads had been constructed in the segment during the present regime.
Another Rs 17 crore sewerage scheme had also been sanctioned for upcoming township of Nalagarh to maintain sanitary conditions in the area besides facilitating tourism activities in Nalagarh and Ram Shehar area by spending Rs 175 lakh.
