Will call Modi’s bluff this time: Khurshid

Union minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Thursday said his party would "shatter the hype" generated by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and expose high levels of malnutrition in children and disparity in incomes of rich and poor in the run-up to Assembly polls.

"We are going to shatter the hype generated by Modi during the poll campaign. The Gujarat Chief Minister has built an image of himself which makes him appear as a champion of inclusive economic growth.

"We are going to call his bluff by posing very difficult questions relating to the incidence of malnutrition in children and disparity in the incomes of the rich and the poor," he told reporters here.

Khurshid said though both may be country-wide phenomena, why was it that they are most acutely present in Gujarat despite the tall claims of sustained development.

Minister dares CM to contest from Anand

Vadodara: Union Minister of State for Railways Bharat Solanki on Thursday dared Chief Minister Narendra Modi to contest Assembly election from Anand. Addressing a meeting of Congress workers at Anand, Solanki said, "Modi has become egotist....if he is confident of winning Assembly election, he should contest from Anand."
