  • The Designated Fast-Track Court on Friday cancelled the bail of two accused in the Naroda Patiya riot case and sent them to jail. The duo — Naresh Chhara and Vijay Chakubhai — was earlier pulled up for not remaining present during the court proceedings. They came to the court today after designated judge Jyotsna Yagnik issued a non-bailable warrant against them.

In what the HC had termed as the carnage “almost unparalleled in the modern history”, 98 people were killed in February 2002.
