A massive fire that engulfed the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) depot in Navi Mumbai on Monday night was doused after eight hours.
No casualties were reported.
The fire broke out at around 1 am and 25-30 fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the flames,a fire brigade official said.
According to reports,around 30,000 litres of lubricant oil stored in the IOC godown at Taloja was destroyed. There was also some damage to the machinery.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
In October 2009,at least ten people were killed and over a hundred were injured in a similar fire at the Indian Oil Corporation depot on the outskirts of Jaipur.
