Just as the Pune police have given a show-cause notice to Synechron Technologies in Kharadi, family of Nayna Pujari, the software engineer from the company who was gangraped and murdered by a cab driver and his aides on October 8, said that she was forced to take up public transport to reach home on many occasions as the company cab was not made available.
“Nayna was working as a team leader with Synechron Technologies and on several occasions she had to stay back beyond work hours. On such days, she used to take public transport to come back home as the company vehicle would not be made available for her. She had brought this problem to the notice of company authorities several times. The police should question the company authorities about this matter," said her husband Abhijeet, during a press conference on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Jalinder Supekar said, “We have issued a show-cause notice to Synechron. We have sought several details about the case including the measures they have been taking for the security of their employees. We have asked for details about their agreements with cab drivers and security guards and how they keep a check on their activities.”
Abhijeet said that Nayana sat in the cab because she saw the company security guard, driver and some office colleagues in it. “Her colleagues got off the cab at Magarapatta and it is unfortunate that her colleagues are not coming forward to help the police in investigation,” he added.
