NCP merger with Congress is in Pawar’s interest: Digvijay

Insisting on NCP's merger with Congress,AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh has said it is in the interest of party leader Sharad Pawar.

Insisting on NCP’s merger with Congress,AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh has said it is in the interest of party leader Sharad Pawar.

“If Pawar wants his daughter or any other relative to become Maharashtra Chief Minister,it is imperative that NCP merges with Congress,” Digvijay Singh told reporters in Bhopal on Thursday night.

“They ask for party tickets as they would not go in for a petty job or business,” former MP Chief Minister said when asked why the kin of former Maharashtra Chief Ministers were in the fray for October 13 assembly elections.

He also said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati should provide security to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his visits to the state.

“It was the responsibility of Mayawati to provide security to Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
