NCSC takes note of Newsline report on Dalits’ plight

The National Commission of Scheduled Castes (NCSC),Chandigarh,on Friday took cognisance of the Newsline story ‘25 km from city,Dalits have nowhere to go’. It sought a factual report on Dalit repression from Superintendent of Police (SP) Maneesh Chaudhry and Panchkula Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ashima Brar. The DC also issued a press statement saying that she “has constituted a committee, to resolve the prevailing tension between different groups of village Batour,falling under Barwala Block in district Panchkula”.
