    At a TV interview, the US president gave a picture of how his new policy would look.

    Responding to a question, Obama said he is well aware that Afghanistan has been a graveyard of foreign powers including the British and the Russians.

    "I'm very mindful of that, and so is my national security team. So is the Pentagon. Afghanistan is not going to be easy in many ways. And this is not my assessment, this is the assessment of commanders on the ground," he added.
