On a balmy Sunday afternoon, the Delhi polo season kicked off with an intriguing four-chukker match and some glamorous cheering from the stands. At the finals of the Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Cup, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, wife of MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Shallu Jindal, wife of industrialist and MP Naveen Jindal, hooted for the Jindal team which rebounded with a thumping victory over Equisport classic. And even the country’s best polo player with the highest handicap, Shamsheer Ali, could not hold off the aggressive Jindal team, which won by a precarious single goal. Also spotted was Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh of Kashmir, an avid polo player, along with his wife Chitrangada Raje.
