    Pakistan’s weak coalition government, embroiled in a tussle for power, will find it much more difficult to control the deadly combination of terrorism and a faltering economy — inflation accelerated to 24.3 per cent in July and forex reserves have declined by more than half. Of course, Nepal’s coalition government too faces colossal challenges, including the formulation of a constitution and the demobilisation and/or incorporation of Maoist soldiers into the Nepali army. Still, the odds favour Nepal’s chances of developing a habit of democracy.
