Nepal, India to reconstruct Kosi river embankment

  • Nepal and India on Wednesday agreed to start reconstruction of the damaged Kosi embankment in January after the water level recedes and decided to expedite the work on two major power projects.

    Nepal-India Joint Committee on Water Resources meet, which concluded here on Wednesday, decided to start the reconstruction of breached Kosi embankment after the water level goes down in January with an aim to complete the work in March, Nepalese Water Resources Secretary Shanker Prasad Koirala said on Wednesday.
