What was Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar doing in Delhi last week? Nitish, who quietly checked into Bihar Bhavan’s CM suite mid-week, met top state Government officers based in Delhi and then went to Gurgaon for some personal work. When he came back to the Bhavan the following morning, he held a series of meetings, both personal and not-so-personal, through the day. One of the aides claimed that Nitish’s two-day visit was purely “personal and routine”, with some medical engagements figuring on the itinerary. But political circles are abuzz that he also got in touch with some old comrades in the Janata Parivar, much to discomfiture of the BJP, which is already nervous about rumours of him getting closer to the UPA. Also nervous is RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
