New Microsoft software to monitor state projects through Internet

Microsoft India is developing a dynamic software framework,which will allow Gujarat to track the implementation of various schemes at the touch of a button.

Microsoft India is developing a dynamic software framework,which will allow Gujarat to track the implementation of various schemes at the touch of a button. The project called Darpan,which is under development,works on Internet-based technology and would be useful to get important information from small villages and remote areas faster.

The platform will also be used to track the movement of people in the border villages for security purpose. An Ahmedabad-based company,Digicorp Information Systems,has been involved in the development of the project.

The company has been assigned the job of building a monitoring and analysis system for remote areas in and around the villages of the state.

The project is an integrated information and decision-support system and digital dashboard for the state authorities. A Microsoft official said on condition of anonymity: The framework will monitor various state government projects. For instance,if the Gujarat government wants to track the implementation of Nirmal Gujarat scheme,they would be able to do it through this frame work.

He added: The state needs to collect information every year from the villages. Parameters and timing might change every year,but the framework allows the changes without any major software development.

The project will be Unicode and will support 13 languages. The framework allows village-level reporting,which can be used for security purposes in the border villages,the official said.

The RJD, lead player of the Mahagathbandhan, released its full list of 143 candidates for the November Bihar Assembly elections. Its key face Tejashwi Yadav will contest from Raghopur, and 41 sitting MLAs have been renominated. The party has dropped 36 sitting MLAs and fielded young leaders, signaling a bid to consolidate its core Muslim-Yadav vote base. The Congress has fielded 60 candidates.
