Filmmaker Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra has reshot and re-edited "Delhi-6", which has been selected at the prestigious Venice Film Festival in the out of competition category.

This is the first time that a film has been re-shot and re-edited post release. The new version is Mehra's original script, said Rajiv Tandon from Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra Productions(ROMP).

"Delhi-6" released earlier this year is produced by ROMP and UTV. It stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor.

The film sent to the festival is the director new version which has new scenes specially shot and re-edited.

Mehra said he has a new beginning and a new end to the film.

The new version will be screened at Venice on September two or three, he said.

The new end will see death of Abhishek Bachcan's character, he said.

The director admitted that audiences were confused with some aspects like the Mirror and Kala Bandar as metaphor for looking within.

    venice!!! no way..By: Sai R | 02-Aug-2009 Reply | Forward Absolutely agree with shalini's comments, Delhi6 was a nightmare.
Please dont send this movie to Venice..By: Shalini | 02-Aug-2009 Reply | Forward I was surprised to see this film being sent to Venice Film Festival. It will project to the world that Indians actually think a very substandarad movie was well liked..and well-liked enough that they were inpudent to send it to a World Film Festival. I went with a fair expectation and was miserable sitting through the film. There is no depth to Abhishek's character and he wears a look that he is in a losing battle in the role. The last few crucial scenes were like a street stage drama, too much emphasis on an imaginary animal and ended with too much Gandhigiri without rallying enough meat for an A class movie. If such a movie makes it to Venice, it would reflect poorly on Indian direction, story telling and screenplay. So please spare the international audience from agony in the name of a feel-good film..MunnaBhai MBBS was able to spread a wonderful message with all the movie masala and it sure deserves to go International, atleast more than Delhi 6.I loved RangDe Basanti BTW
