  • In the wake of the recent collapse of a section of a flyover near Lucknow, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Friday asked the Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) to check the quality of flyover being constructed at three different sites on the road connecting Lucknow to Faizabad.

“The HCC has set up three committees to review and check the quality of construction and submit its report in three days,” said M K Jain, NHAI project director. The HCC was also the agency that was responsible for the construction of the flyover that caved in last week, killing three people and leaving 11 others injured. Jain said engineers from NHAI and HCC have inspected the accident site on the Lucknow-Faizabad Road.
