NIA files charge sheet against Aseemanand in Ajmer dargah case

It alleged that they were "Hindu extremists" who carried out the "terrorist activity",court sources said.

Suspected Hindu extremist Swami Aseemanand and seven others were on Monday charged with murder and carrying out terrorist activities by National Investigation Agency which filed its second charge sheet in the 2007 Ajmer dargah blasts case.

The charge sheet filed before the special judge named Sandeep Dangae,Bhawesh Bhai,Mehul,Suresh Bhai,Ramchander and Sunil Joshi,now dead,along with Aseemanand and Bharat Bhai as the main accused.

It alleged that they were “Hindu extremists” who carried out the “terrorist activity”,court sources said.

They have been charged with IPC sections related to murder,conspiracy to murder and terrorist activities,they said.

In April this year,the NIA was handed over the investigation into the bomb attack at the dargah of Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti that left three persons dead and 15 others injured.

Two other accused namely Harshad Solanki and Mukesh Vaasaani have already been chargsheeted by NIA before the CBI court.

The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad which had probed the case had earlier chargsheeted Devendra Gupta,Lokesh Sharma and Chandrashekar Levae before the district judge Ajmer and their trial is still on.

Chandrashekar was granted bail by the High Court.

Aseemaanand,who was arrested in January this year in the dargah blast case,and Bharat were today produced in the court which extended their judicial custody till July 20.

Apart from Ajmer Dargah blast,Aseemanand is accused in several other blast cases across the country,including those in Samjhauta train,Hyderabad’s Mecca Masjid and Malegaon.
