NIA to conduct brain mapping tests on nine 2006 Malegaon blasts accused

The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court granted permission to the National Investigating Agency for conducting brain mapping and polygraph tests on the nine accused in the 2006 Malegaon blasts case.

The Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court granted permission to the National Investigating Agency for conducting brain mapping and polygraph tests on the nine accused in the 2006 Malegaon blasts case. The NIA had moved an application seeking permission to carry out further investigations. The Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Maharashtra Police,which investigated the case,arrested Salman Farsi,Shabir Ahmed,Noorulhuda Doha,Rais Ahmed,Mohammed Ali,Asif Khan,Javed Sheikh,Dr Farooque Ansari and Abrar Ahmed for their alleged involvement in the blasts. The order was passed after the accused agreed to undergo the tests. “The accused through their lawyers moved an application saying they do not mind undergoing the tests during Ramzan. NIA is looking for experts who can conduct the tests on all the accused in the next few days,” said special public prosecutor Rohini Salian.
