NIPER students demand resignation of director

The protest was a silent one as the students sat with the posters stating their demands.

Students of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) sat on a protest at Phase 10,Mohali,demanding the resignation of the institute’s present director. The protest was a silent one as the students sat with the posters stating their demands.

Students had resumed their protest on April 15 as the authorities were not able to fulfill their demands which were stated to the director 15 days ago.

Director K K Bhutani,had asked for 15 days to meet the demands. A five-member panel was formed to sort out the demands put forth by the students.

Students have demanded the appointment of a regular director at the institute and have also asked for UGC (University Grants Commission) recognition for NIPER degrees. They also demanded a dedicated placement official,as according to the students,the placements are not up to the mark. Proper internet facility in the hostel has also been added to the list by the students.
