Inspector Mali said Kasab seemed familiar with interrogation techniques. “Unlike ordinary criminals who often volunteer more information than is actually asked of them, Kasab was giving very pointed answers. The most chilling part was that he was answering in a very calm and emotionless manner, almost like a professional soldier,” Mali said.
Kasab also refused to answer questions when a video camera was turned on to record his interrogation and demanded that it be switched off, Mali said. Kasab allegedly told the police about a “Chacha” who had briefed and motivated the group before the mission. “However, after arrest, he started saying that he had landed in this trouble because of “Chacha” and also wished that he had been killed like his comrades,” Mali said.
