  • As students get ready for admissions to various city colleges, there is growing concern that the absence of a centralised admission system may put them through undue harassment. The admissions in all city colleges are scheduled to be held between July 14 and July 21, both days inclusive.

“For years, students have been demanding a uniform system of admissions to colleges. The Education department, however, seems to be turning a deaf ear every time. Centralised admissions will save us not only time, but also money,” says Nishu, a student.

Another student, Anshu adds: “The situation is worse for students with average scores. Having scored 69 per cent marks, I am unsure for which colleges I would make the final cut.”

With colleges holding admissions on their respective campuses, students will be left with no option, but shuttle between different colleges.

Principal of SD College, Sector 32, Dr A C Vaid said, “We will consider taking up the issue with the authorities concerned. It is only based on their response and the consent of other colleges that such an issue can be resolved.”
