  • Even as the city recorded 6 mm rainfall on Friday, State Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Ajit Pawar instructed officials to keep the water cut for the city at 40 per cent which will see smooth operations for 25 days and said that there would be no further water cuts. He said the next water assessment would be done at the end of the month.

At a special meeting, conducted by Pawar at the Council hall attended by elected representatives he said that the corporation should immediately approve the tender for Bhama Asked project. The civic body had readied a Rs 260 crore plan and had sought financial help from state and central governments.

Pawar candidly stated that the government was willing to help the civic body provided if it adhered to the rules with the civic body drawing out 16 TMC as against 11.5 TMC. Farmers from Haveli, Indapur, Baramati and Daund are not happy with the situation, he stated.
