It turns out that Amar Singh is not the only one losing sleep over the FIR filed by Shiv Kant Tripathi against Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh, his wife Pankaja and film star Amitabh Bachchan. The Shukla family residing at 352/3, New Labour Colony, Babupurva, has also lost its peace of mind since the filing of the FIR on October 15 as this was the address Tripathi gave as his residential address. The media and the police have since made a beeline towards the Shukla residence with inquiries about Tripathi.
Shiv Kumar Shukla, along with his wife Mithlesh, and daughters Kirti and Preeti, has been staying in the house for the last 18 years and he claims he does not know Tripathi. “I have no relative with the name of S K Tripathi. We do not know Tripathi, therefore the question of him residing in our house does not arise,” said Shukla. He added that if things went on the same way, they would have to leave the house. A police team is deployed outside the house to keep a watch on the visitors and Shukla is particularly incensed over the “rude, and humiliating behaviour” of policemen.
The Shiv Kant Tripathi who filed the FIR actually lives at 37-B, Shyam Nagar under Chakeri police station. “Shukla is my distant relative, but due to the fear of police and Samajwadi Party leaders, he and his family is unwilling to admit to the fact. I have frequently stayed in that house and to avoid any commotion at my Shyam Nagar residence, I mentioned that address in the FIR,” said Tripathi. The police is unwilling to explain how they entertained an FIR without verifying the address of the complainant.
