  • The BJP on Tuesday said there was “no confusion in the party” over RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statement made during an interview to India Today that “four central leaders were ruled out for the post of the party president”.

“There is no confusion, difference of opinion, or anger (against Bhagwat’s statement). There is no Sangh interference in BJP affairs. He said the BJP will take its own decisions,” said BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, adding that the “two organisations (RSS and BJP) were one ideological family”. There were reports of resentment in the party over Bhagwat’s interview where he said, “The party had told him that Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar were not in the list of probables for the party president’s post”.
