  • No Smoking... No, we are not talking about Anurag Kashyap’s new film. That’s Saif Ali Khan’s New Year’s Resolution No. 1. Or so we’ve been told. But on the day of the Screen Awards, Saif who walked in late only to discover that his moment in the spotlight was gone, was in a desperate need for a cancer stick. “Get me a cigarrette please,” he pleaded. And when our editor joked that she might have a packet stashed away in her hand-bag, well, he hollered for her hand-bag. It was only after he had taken a few long drags that he went back to being his usual “chilled”- out self.

    SALAAM-E-ISHQ

Recently, when Priyanka Chopra was in Jaipur to promote Salaam-e-Ishq she was asked when she was planning to get married. With a straight face she quipped, “I’ve been planning since I was 11 years old but unfortuantely I have still to bump into my Mr Right. If any one of you do, do please let me know, pronto.” Hey Priyanka, whatever happened to one Harman Baweja?

    MIND YOUR LANGUAGE

Jiah Khan, who seduces Mr Bachchan in Nishabd, informs us that she’s been visiting Mumbai every year since she was three. “The difference is that London is full of wealthy people who are depressed. In Mumbai people are not as well-off but always smiling,” she says in accented angrezi. What’s with the accent, how will she get rid of it? “You’ll see,” she says. “Mom would punish me if I didn’t speak Hindi at home. Maybe it will pay off.”
