Noida boy crushed by speeding schoolbus

A 14-year-old boy on his way to school was crushed to death by a schoolbus early on Thursday morning.

A 14-year-old boy on his way to school was crushed to death by a schoolbus early on Thursday morning. Amit Mishra,a student of Class IX at Noida’s Gyan Bharti Public School,was on a motorcycle with his father and sister.

The accident occurred near the Sector-34 Mother Dairy booth. The motorcycle,on which the children were riding pillion,was hit from behind by the speeding bus of Indus Valley School.

In his complaint to the police,Amit’s father Bhuneshwar Mishra said the boy fell in front of the bus. “The speeding vehicle crushed him in front of my eyes,” said Mishra,who works at an export company in Noida phase-II.

Amit’s sister Nandini,a student of Class VI of the same school sustained minor injuries.

“She fell on the other side of the road,” said Pramod Kumar,the Station House Officer of Sector- 24 police station.

As the news spread,his neighbours — residents of Udaygiri Apartments-1,Sector-34 — gathered at the site demanding punishment of the driver.

“A case has been registered under Section 304 of the IPC and driver of the bus,Ganesh has been arrested,” said Kumar.

On his part,the driver claimed that the motorcycle had skidded. “I did not see the boy as it was so sudden,” said Ganesh.
