Noida: domestic help raped by MNC executive

An MNC executive has been arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old tribal woman who was engaged as a domestic help at his Sector-15 house,the police said on Saturday. The police said the accused,Henry Daniel,has been raping her for the past five months,according to the victim’s complaint.

A senior police officer said she had begun work at Daniel’s home about eight months ago. “The victim comes from a tribal district in Jharkhand and had been employed through a placement agency,” the officer said.

Another senior officer said that a medical test conducted on the victim had confirmed rape. The officer said Daniel,who works for an MNC in Noida Phase-II,has been arrested. “A case of rape has been registered,” P K Shukla,Sector-20 police station SHO,said. This instance of repeated rape came to light when an official of the placement agency came to check on the victim’ wellbeing. “The victim confided in the official who,in turn,alerted the police about the incident,” the senior officer said.
