Noida Extn investors make beeline to HC: Hear us out too

Adding a new dimension to the legal battle between farmers and the Uttar Pradesh government over the issue of land acquisition in Noida Extension,flat owners of the area have approached the Allahabad High Court,pleading to be made party in the pending cases.

G L Sagar,Secretary of Noida Extension Flat Buyers’ Welfare Association,on Thursday said that applications have been filed in connection with at least six petitions.

“On Wednesday,we filed applications in connection with four petitions. Today,we filed applications related to two more petitions. These pertain to Roza-Yakubpur and Bisrakh,” Sagar said. By Friday,he expects similar applications to be filed in connection with 20-25 petitions.

“Our objective is to ensure that our side is also heard out. We will implead,seek to become a party in all writ petitions that have been filed in this connection,” Sagar said.

He did not elaborate on what exactly would be the thrust of the argument of flat owners. “We will present our views before the court,” Sagar said,adding that all applications are likely to be taken up by the court on July 26.

The court has already deferred to July 26 all cases pertaining to land acquisition in Roza-Yakubpur,Haibatpur,Itehda,Malcha,Devla,Ghanola and other places.

A large number of flat buyers have been affected by the decisions of the Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court which quashed acquisition of farm land in Noida Extension. Sagar said that thousands of investors who had bought flats in nearly 40-45 projects in Noida Extension were affected and worried about their investments.

GREATER NOIDA: Residents of Patwari,where land acquisition was quashed by Allahabad High Court,on Thursday decided to move court for additional compensation for the hardships they had to endure. The mahapanchayat also ruled out talks with the administration until three farmer representatives were included in the land acquisition committee.
