Since its launch 11 years ago, Nokia’s Communicator phone has evolved into a companion for the executives who are constantly on the move. Yet, over time, new technologies and compatibilities have altered expectations. With the release of the E90 Communicator, Nokia has again proved that it is ready for business.
The Communicator is set to take on any device in its segment, in terms of functionality and price. “It’s the oldest and strongest sub-brand of Nokia. There are a host of new features in the E90 vis-a-vis its predecessors, making it even more powerful. The connectivity options, full office tools and a variety of business applications are unique and allow the user to do business from practically anywhere, anytime,” says Chakrapani GK, Country General Manager, Nokia Enterprise Solutions.
One of E90’s most attractive features is that it is also a GPS (global positioning system) device. The inbuilt GPS receiver can pinpoint the owner’s location and with a flick of a finger he can find out about all the restaurants, shops and offices near him. This application is also useful if you need to go to a particular location; just put in the desired destination and the phone will draw the map for you.
What makes the phone stand out is that unlike other devices it is not solely designed for business. “Nokia believes that the executives who have such phones do not use them just for business but also for entertainment such as gaming and music,” says Chakrapani.
