Nokia and Itc Ltd recently entered into a partnership to provide new opportunities to rural Indian communities and farmers. The joint initiative, which will offer relevant, personalised agri-services on the Nokia Life Tools, is aimed at enhancing the potential for sustainable livelihood creation and improving the quality of life of rural households.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding, Nokia and ITC will collaborate to offer Nokia Life Tools consumers enriched content available in ITC’s e-Choupal network in the areas of commodity prices as well as updated information on the agriculture sector. Nokia and ITC will have the opportunity to reach out to a arger audience and deliver alerts on schemes and other information directly to users of Nokia Life Tools.
D Shivakumar, vice president, Nokia India, said, “Our association with ITC e-choupal will further enrich the Nokia Life Tools service and will provide farmers across states with the right information at the right time .”

To begin with, the content will be provided in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
