  • Nokia, the world's leading mobile manufacturer, will start its charger exchange program from tomorrow onwards, a top company official said.

The company announced a free charger exchange program today, after finding some manufacturing defects in AC-3E model chargers, made by a Chinese vendor, which is used for Nokia 7210 models.

"The AC-3E charger models manufactured between June 15-August 9, 2009, are the affected ones. This exchange program is limited to the models within this stipulated time," Nokia's Director-Retail, Shankar Subramanian, told reporters.

The consumers can SMS CHG (space) and the 27 digit code printed on the charger and send it to 55555. Nokia will inform them whether that particular charger is a defect one via SMS, Subramanian said.

Otherwise, the customers can walk into any Nokia Care Centre or Nokia priority shop or they can log into http://chargerexchange.nokia.com to identify whether the charger is a faulty one, Subramanian said.

The customers, who are having a faulty charger will get a replacement either from any Nokia Care Centre or Nokia priority shop or via courier, he added.
