  • Insisting that she was not involved in bringing down Babri Masjid, expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti, a prime accused in the case, on Thursday said she is ready to face any consequence in wake of submission of the Liberhan Commission report.

Bharti said she had merely led an agitation to Ayodhya to muster support for the construction of the Ram Temple. “There were about 2.5 lakh activists on that day and they could not listen to anyone before they stormed the structure,” Bharti, chief of Bharatiya Janshakti party, said while addressing a rally on Women’s Reservation Bill.

Bharti said the then prime minister P V Narasimha Rao also showed “inaction” in preventing the demolition.
