
Most of his recent films, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Red, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag flopped. Toss released this week is expected to meet the same fate.
However, actor Sushant Singh is down but not out. “I am one of the better actors present around,” he says hinting at Nakul Vaid, who shares stage with him as they promote their latest venture Mohandas in Lucknow.
“As long as I am getting to work I don’t mind flop movies. Anyways, we don’t play a role in making a film hit or flop. It’s a team work and one weak link turns a good movie into horrible” says Sushant who shot to fame with Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle and as Sukhdev in Legend of Bhagat Singh.
Claiming himself to be not choosy as other stars, Sushant excepts having signed movies mere to beat boredom. “To survive in Bollywood you have to make compromises,” says Sushant reminiscing how he was thrown out of Chetan Anand movie six months after being signed. “That should have been my debut movie but they rejected me because I have a long nose,” Sushant recalls his struggle days which lasted few months. “You can’t quantamise struggle or pain. In term of time period my struggle was short but only I know what all I had to face," says Sushant who did a cameo in Satya as his first break.
Familiar to Lucknow, Sushant has been visiting the city since schooldays. “During winters, Birla School, Nainital used to study hold camp here in Moti Mahal, Hazratganj and so I have some real fond memories,” says Sushant sharing his Lucknow
