  • It’s raining in love; that’s what Tum Mile is

Had it been up to her, she would’ve got Bhai and Bebo engaged a month back. But that’s Bhai’s business, and Soha Ali Khan would rather not stick her nose into it. As for her, “I’ll get married at some point in life and trade off for a domesticated life, but right now, there’s lot to achieve,” says Soha, in town with Emraan Hashmi and director Kunal Deshmukh for Tum Mile’s promotion. “The film’s a turning point, and I relate to Sanjana, who’s like me - wealthy, secure, romantic, independent and does not want to settle!” while Soha’s representing the woman of today, Emmi’s pitching for the commitment-phobic guys. “Single mindedness and taking responsibility is what separates boys from men,” he draws the line.

While Tum Mile uses the rain as a metaphor for love, Soha would rather stick to sunny days. “I hate monsoon muck and humidity,” says the actress who loved the fire, passion and realism of love portrayed in the film. “It starts from what happens after happily ever after.” And the kisses? “The script demanded, and if you’ve done one, the second and third doesn’t matter!” Ask Emraan, and he’s happy that his wife’s adjusting. “Not many have hubbies labelled as serial kissers!” he smiles, still looking for a house in Mumbai, refusing to bow down to the discrimination.

Switch to Soha, and this is her third career after development and banking. “We’ve lived a sheltered, royal life where you’re told to act calm and compose. All these years, I was a closet actor, trying hard to resist this seductive industry,” she’s out, and all the expression, advise, woman’s perspective comes from mother, Sharmila, with whom she is doing an English family drama, Life Goes On. “I left banking without telling my parents, made couple of wrong decisions, but now my instincts have got better,” she wants to do glamorous roles, and is taking it slow and steady.

    ... contd.
