The district administration on Monday said they are exploring the possibilities of creating a dumping ground in the forest area after the villagers of Uruli Devachi protested against the Pune Municipal Corporation for creating problems to them by dumping the city waste in their jurisdiction despite it turning out to be hazardous to them.

“Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar had recently held a meeting with the state Forest minister regarding the use of forest land for dumping garbage created in the PMC area,” district collector Chandrakant Dalvi told reporters.

He said the district administration has communicated the same with the civic body and has asked to identify location and move a proposal in this regard.
