One particular area will be reserved in each sector of a housing scheme where informal markets will be developed. “These platforms and kiosks will be provided to vendors through allotment process. Each platform will be of 10 square metre and its cost will include the value of the land added to the cost of construction,” said the vice-chairman.
The LDA has laid down a two-point criteria for the applicants: they should belong to the below poverty line category and he/she cannot resale the allotted plot to another party till the next 10 years.
Such markets existed in Madhya Pradesh where they have helped reduce traffic chaos on roads.
