IT-telecom services company Teleservices Private Limited has launched an application that will enable parents to get updates about their school-going children on their mobile phones.
The product,called R-Fi,will utilise long-range radio frequency technology to read the photo ID cards of the kids and as they pass beneath the doorways or through the main gate of the school,said a company release.
The R-Fi reader / scanner will detect it and will inform the parents with alerts on their mobile phones through an inbuilt automated notification system about their arrival and departure from the school premises.
R-Fi will prove to be beneficial for both schools and parents,since it will facilitate better communication between the school and the parents. In addition,it will provide peace of mind to parents as they will be getting regular updates about their kids and the day-to-day activities in the school,said Anurag Srivastava,Director Pinnacle Teleservices Pvt. Ltd. Along with the in and out information about the child,the school management is also able to send updates to parents about happenings in the school,special instructions and any other emergency notices. In fact,in majority of the schools Parents Teachers Meetings are held once in 2-3 months to pass on necessary updates about the students,whereas here the frequency of information dissemination is on daily basis, he said. Commenting on the installation procedure of this System Shailesh Ranbhise,head Western Region,Pinnacle Teleservices said that school does not have to invest much in deploying this system,the R-Fi photo ID cards for students are provided by us,students are not required to carry two different identity cards.
The charges per month for parents who are availing this service are also minimal,said the release.
