The popular Archie comics,which have been a part of almost everyone’s childhood,will now be accessible on your mobile and that too in the language of your choice.

The American comic strip,revolving around the lives of a bunch of teenagers,will be released in vernacular languages for mobile users in India by Nazara Technologies,a mobile entertainment company.

“We are excited to be working with Nazara and look forward to the many fans of our brand having access through our digital comics,” said John L Goldwater,CEO of Archie Comics Publications.

Goldwater is the creator of the characters Archie Andrews,Betty Cooper,Veronica Lodge,Reggie Mantle and Forsythe ‘Jughead’ Jones,who are popular among teenagers even today. The comic strip was first published in 1941.

“Archie comics has not lost its popularity in the last sixty years. Even today there are about a million copies of the Archie comic sold every month.

“With the comic strips being made available on mobile,the reader will not have to wait for months to see what happens next. Moreover,we are bringing the out the Archie comics in regional Indian languages,” said Nitish Mittersain,CEO,Nazara Technologies.

With the new services,a mobile user can download Archie comic strips in their choice of language by using their GPRS connection at varied price points depending on their operator.
