“After about two-and-a half-hour review and spot visit to villages in Sonbhadra it has come out that despite reports on anomalies submitted by officials of central and state government teams, job cards are still kept in the custody of gram pradhans, payment entries are fake and payments are delayed at majority of the places,”said Jain.

He said he along with a CPCB member would inspect work at Parichha Thermal Power Plant in Jhansi on April 6. “The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest had served a notice under section 5 of Environment (Protection) Act of 1986 to Parichha plant for non-compliance but the state government is yet to take any action in the matter,” he said.
