An NRI alleged that the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) has not been shifting his tubewell to the new address despite his paying Rs 18,000 two years ago.
NRI Harbans Singh of Kohala village in Jalandhar alleged that he had purchased land here and applied for shifting his tubewell. “But two years on, nothing has moved. The PSEB has been engaging me in tedious paperwork. I even paid Rs 18,000, but the PSEB gave no any receipt. When I demanded the receipt, the officials returned Rs 17,500 and after an hour conducted a raid and imposed a fine of Rs 19,000 for reasons best known to them,” he alleged. He said due to the delay by the PSEB, his land has turned barren. “If an NRI is made to wait for two years to get a tubewell connection, then why would he come here to invest?” he asked.
PSEB Chief Engineer (North Zone) TS Thind said it's an old case and without looking into the documents, he could not say anything.
